We all deserve to look and feel attractive and comfortable in our own skin, and when it comes to our appearance, a little vanity is certainly nothing to be scoffed at. There’s nothing wrong with taking pride in our appearance, which is why the health and beauty industry is currently thriving better than ever before. When it comes to a woman’s appearance, we can all surely agree that a woman’s hair is one of her primary focal points. A woman’s hair isn’t simply an accessory, it’s a part of her identity. When a woman’s hair is healthy and happy, she will likely be healthy and happy at the same time. If a woman’s hair is dull, lifeless, and in bad condition however, it’s unlikely that she herself will be too pleased about this. If your hair has seen better days, the good news is that you can turn things around. Here are 4 healthy hair tips for women.
Follow the right washing routine – In an ideal world, all women would have the exact same hair type as one another and so they would basically all be okay if they followed the same washing routine. Unfortunately, not all women have the same hair type, which is why it’s so important that you follow the correct washing routine. Some of you for example, will ideally need to wash your hair daily to keep it shiny, soft, and healthy, whilst others may be okay washing it just once or twice per week. It’s also important that you remember to condition after each shampooing, and that you use water which is not too hot and not too cold. Yes, even the temperature of the water can affect how shiny and healthy your hair is.
Eat right – You are what you eat, and so if your diet consists primarily of processed junk food with virtually no real nutrition at all, don’t be shocked if you feel awful, look unhealthy, and suffer from unhealthy hair. Diets lacking in nutrients not only affect your health, they also affect your appearance. People that don’t consume enough vitamins and minerals for example, often have very unhealthy skin and hair. To ensure your hair is thick, soft, shiny, and healthy, be sure to eat right and follow a healthy eating regime. Get plenty of fruits and vegetables as they are loaded full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. On top of that, make sure you get plenty of healthy fats to assist with fat-soluble nutrient absorption rates, and plenty of protein as your hair is made from keratin, which is a form of protein.
Use supplements – As well as a healthy diet, to make sure you’re getting enough nutrients, consider using vitamin supplements and perhaps a fish oil supplement loaded full of omega 3 fatty-acids. Supplements are there to ensure that you get enough nutrients needed by the body, and you can’t fault their convenience either.
Don’t brush after showering or bathing – Wet hair is very delicate and therefore it should ideally be left alone until it has dried slightly. A lot of women make the mistake of brushing their hair whilst soaking wet, but this is a mistake. When wet, the hair is weaker and brushing it can cause damage, both to the hair and to the roots in general. Wait for your hair to dry slightly before brushing, as it will become stronger as it dries.
